Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered in the search boxes are sent to the third-party provider that supplies those results. Morgan Hill Residents Directory does not keep a separate copy of those search terms. If you email or otherwise contact the operators, the message and any details it contains are used to respond or review a correction.
Routine Technical Logs
The hosting service may record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, referrer, and timestamps. These ordinary server logs help diagnose errors, protect availability, and understand aggregate page use. Cookies or similar tools may be used for basic analytics or, where applicable, advertising measurement.
Why Limited Data Is Used
Technical information is used to operate the pages, investigate failures, measure general traffic, and improve the reference. The service does not sell a visitor list or create a personal profile of individual readers. Search-form submissions remain subject to the outside provider's own handling practices.
Outside Portals Have Their Own Rules
The pages link to county and state records portals, courts, libraries, Archives, USPS, and sponsored search tools. When a link is followed, the destination's privacy policy controls the information submitted there. That includes the search provider behind the lookup boxes. Read the destination terms before entering sensitive data.
Who Processes Technical Data
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs to keep the pages available. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Disclosure can also occur when valid legal process requires it. No additional disclosure is made merely because a visitor viewed a Morgan Hill records page.
Security and Retention
The pages use an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational, security, and measurement purposes that require them. There are no user accounts, passwords, or personal profiles maintained by this reference site.
Visitors Younger Than 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Morgan Hill Residents Directory does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent personal information, contact the operators so it can be reviewed and deleted when found.
California Privacy Choices
California's Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq., gives covered consumers rights to know, delete subject to exceptions, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, use Global Privacy Control, limit sensitive-data use, and avoid discrimination. A covered business generally responds within 45 days, with a possible 45-day extension, and opt-out requests are generally handled within 15 business days.
Because this reference retains little personal information, an access, correction, or deletion request usually means checking the contact mailbox and limited server logs. Use the Contact page. Government data is a separate matter: a California deed, court file, assessment, or city record is held by its custodian and cannot be erased from that office through this site.
California's Delete Act created the free DROP one-request platform under Civil Code §§1798.99.80 et seq. Residents could submit beginning January 1, 2026; registered data brokers must begin checking at least every 45 days and processing requests August 1, 2026. The state program can address broker records, not the source deed or court record.
